If you are concerned about the state of Cambuslang, the amount of new housing, the lack of investment in public services, the increasing congestion and the condition of the town centre, you need to respond to a consultation being run by South Lanarkshire Council on a the new local development plan.  This is important. The new plan will identify new ‘sites for development’ and govern what South Lanarkshire Council does in Cambuslang over the next five years. When the plan is complete it will be adopted by the Scottish Government.

It is no use complaining when you come across a development proposal on our doorstep if you don’t respond to the consultation before the deadline of 12th May. Please look at the development proposals in the ‘main issues report’ on the SLC website here.

Cambuslang Community Council will be responding to the consultation, so please let us know what you think by contacting cambuslangcomco@aol.com  or write directly to SLC with your views.

Please don’t ignore this plan – if you care about the state of Cambuslang, you need to respond.
