The Cambuslang Community Council Cycling Project are leading a bid to create a regional road-racing circuit in Cambuslang. Working together with South Lanarkshire Council, South Lanarkshire Leisure, the CamGlen Bike Town initiative (Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust) and the East Kilbride Road Club, the Community Council have identified a site off Bogleshole Road to the north-west of the former Hoover site which could accommodate a 2km road-racing circuit. A meeting has been arranged with the national body for sports cycling in Scotland, Scottish Cycling, and discussions are underway with Scottish Enterprise about acquiring the site.
