Our members, Michelle Farmer (vice-chair) and Hilda Allison met up with CamGlen Radio to discuss the work of Cambuslang Community Council. Appearing on the Community Focus show, Hilda and Michelle discussed the ‘Cambuslang Future’ initiative to regenerate the Main Street and improve the environment of the town.
They highlighted that the Community Council is applying for Micro Grant Funding (£5,000) this year from April 2019- March 2020 from the Renewable Energy Fund which is managed by South Lanarkshire Council’s Planning & Economic Development department.  Community groups should watch out for updates in April. Grants of up to £500 will be available to constituted and non-constituted groups in Cambuslang. Information will follow on our application response.
Hilda and Michelle also discussed the Have Your Say consultation on Access to Finance  which is a survey investigating the effects of the loss of banks for personal and business banking. A report will be submitted to the Scottish Affairs Committee for the UK Parliament. Please complete the survey which ends on 22 March 2019 here.
