On Sunday 14 June 2015, a memorial plaque for Mark Henderson, RN, was dedicated at Cambuslang Parish Church. Formerly of Cambuslang, Mark Henderson died in the Falklands Campaign serving on board HMS Glamorgan, which was hit by an Exocet missile and sunk on 12 June 1982. At a memorial service at Cambuslang Parish Church, the plaque – donated by Cambuslang Community Council and South Lanarkshire Council – was dedicated in the presence of Mark Henderson’s family, the Rev. Scott Brown (former Chaplain to the Royal Navy), two members of the HMS Glamorgan (Falkland Islands) Association, Mick Connor, Chairman of Royal British Legion Scotland (East Kilbride branch) and representatives of the Sea Cadet Corps.
