On Sunday 7 June, the local community came out in force for the Holmhills Park Community Litter Pick-up. Organised by Cambuslang Community Council member, Michelle Farmer, 25 local residents collected over 50 sacks of rubbish and litter from the Holmhills Wood. Among the litter pickers were new MP Margaret Ferrier, Councillor Richard Tullet, members of Cambuslang Community Council, and members of the local Scouts branch and Forest Schools. Tools and support were provided by South Lanarkshire Council’s Land Services department., who have done much to transform the Langlea Drive end of the park in recent months. Michelle commented: “the support from the local community has been fantastic and shows that many people really care about the Park”. A new Friends of Holmhills Park is being set up and is open for anyone to join – please contact mishafarmer@live.com
