From 19 May 2015, Cambuslang Community Council will be meeting at a different venue – the Cambuslang Institute on Greenlees Road. The meeting time will not change: the third Tuesday of a month at 7.30 pm. A move away from the current venue at Cambuslang Parish Church was forced on the Community Council by the steep cut in its annual administration grant from South Lanarkshire Council. Community Council chairman, Jack Taylor, expressed his regret at the need for a move, given the long association between the Community Council and Cambuslang Parish Church. However, the Community Council is having to make savings and South Lanarkshire Council has arranged for community councils across the local authority to meet free of charge in SLC premises.
