Keepmoat Homes and Dawn Developments have submitted pre-application plans for housing and associated infrastructure on the old Hoover site. Dawn Homes are proposing to build 300 new houses, mainly 3 and 4-bedroom homes, on parcels of land along the river. Keepmoat homes are planning to build affordable homes on the western side of the site, towards the railway line. A new road would run through the site, providing access from Dale Avenue (off Bogleshole Road) which would be the main entrance. A secondary entrance would be from Somervell Street. Further details will become available when detailed planning documents are submitted to South Lanarkshire Council.
