Our chair, John Bachtler, and vice-chair, Michelle Farmer, have been interviewed by CamGlen Radio to discuss the work of Cambuslang Community Council.

John spoke about the latest developments with the Cambuslang Future group which has been working with South Lanarkshire Council to develop a Town Centre Strategy and Action Plan for Cambuslang Main Street. The first steps in delivering improvements to the Main Street have been taken with the submission of a large bid for funding to the Town Centre Fund to resurface the pavement with granite sets, reconfigure the street furniture, and create a plaza area for street markets and events.

Michelle spoke about the forthcoming launch of a new micro-grants scheme being set up with £5,000 provided from the Renewable Energy Fund. Small grants of up to £500 will be available for local groups for community initiatives or projects. The new scheme is being set up over the next 1-2 months and should be open for applications by October. Further information will be available on this website and via the Cambuslang Community Council Facebook page and Twitter account.
