The installation of 15 street planters on Cambuslang Main Street has encouraged lots of people and businesses to support the new Cambuslang in Bloom initiative. Along the Main Street, all 15 planters have been ‘adopted’ by shops and businesses who are ensuring the planters are in good order and kept watered. The photo shows our youngest volunteer, Melissa Meharry, daughter of the managers of The Hospice Shop, keeping the first planter at the entrance to the Main Street well-watered. Well done Melissa – you’re a great example!

Over 25 people have already signed up to help Cambuslang in Bloom improve the appearance of Cambuslang. Linda Wallace, coordinator of the group, said: “we have been overwhelmed by the support we are getting and it shows how many people care about the appearance of the Main Street and want to help make a difference.” Cambuslang in Bloom is still looking for volunteers, so please feel free to contact Linda at Cambuslangbloom@aol.com.
